Fantastic Anniversary Weekend

We had just about the best time his past weekend. We flew into the San Diego airport Saturday morning and rented a car. We drove up to my Mom's house so we could change into our tea drinking togs. I wore a cute green print dress with a sweater and green hat with a yellow flower. Justin wore grey pants, and blue check shirt with suspenders and he straw boater hat. We have a lovely lunch with some dear friends.

Then we checked into our hotel--it was beautiful. We stayed in the Purisma Conception room. Appearently it is the most requested room. That evening we went to Don Jose's for dinner--very tasty. Then we went to DjangoFest. What a great little concert. There were three acts. We enjoyed the 1st and 3rd acts the best. I was not sure that just was going to like the music byt he did--what a relief. If you have not heard Gypsy Jazz before, you should check it out. Django Reinhardt was the innovator of the music in the 30's and 40's. We got back to the hotel about 12:30 am. We slept like the dead. We got up the next morning for a light breakfast served by the pool. Then we headed up the Ortega Highway to check out my dad's new diggs. He had sunk a sea container inthe ground at the top of a mountain and is living off the grid. He has carved out a nice little life for himself. After this, we headed down to Laguna to celebrate with the rest of out family and friends. It was a nice turnout of 30-40 people. We have Chicken parmesian from Sonny's Pizza, bread and an antipast salad from Fratelli's. Beckie made a tube pasta with her famous spicy sauce and poeple also brought salads. it was quite a feast. For desert, we had my favorite: a white cake with strawberry filling and whipped cream frosting. Yummy. At 6:30 pm we started heading back to San Diego to catch our flight home. Everything was on time. We stopped for a little bite to eat once back in Tucson and then we were in bed by 11:30 pm. I was a wee bit tired today, but it was a grand trip.
