A Weekend in California

This past weekend, we scattered my grandfather's ashes. He passed away in August of 2007. There were two events. The first was at the beach house, where we flung him into the ocean. His ashes were packing in a bio-degradable paper container. He floated over a couple waves, and then he caught one and smashed into the rocks and disappeared. My grandpa loved body surfing, so it was all very appropriate. Then it was to the cemetery to put the rest of the ashes into the ground with some of his son's ashes, who passed away in May of 1999 of Lou Gehrig's disease. That was a nice little ad lib ceremony too. Everyone was polite that was there. I did not start any trouble. My new quote is "you can choose to be right, or you can choose to be happy."

Right now, I choose to be happy.
