What to drink when you are sick . . .

I have had a cold since Wednesday. I had acupuncture this morning--my last treatment for at least 3 months. Julie is pregnant and due any day now. anyway, she did some points to help my cold along. And she recommended two things to consume:

1. Ginger tea with honey. I did 10 quarter size slices of fresh ginger in my 2 cup tea put. Let it steep in hot water for 3-4 minutes. Add a teaspoon of honey and enjoy. It is soooo good.

2. Chicken broth with garlic and scallions. I took a box a fat free chicken broth and crushed 4 cloves(use less if you are not a huge fan of garlic) into a saucepan and let it come to a boil. Then I added three chopped scallions and let them sit for about a minute. Also added a pinch of salt and some fresh ground pepper.

So, if you are sick like me, this is the advice I offer.
