I am 4 months pregnant--it feels good to say that.
Yesterday I met with a dietitian and it was very informative. Back when I was diagnosed with PCOS in March 2006, I was told a low-carb diet was the way to go, but at that time, I really did not know what that meant. Well, now I do. So in order to keep the gestational diabetes away I need to eat a certain way and she laid it out very well for me. It is not difficult to follow, but it requires planning. That is where I slack. I want to just open the fridge and there is the food I should be eating, easy as that. So I am supposed to eat 400 calories 6 times a day. Or 500 calories for main meals and 300 calories for snacks. No more than 45 grams of carbs at each meal--that is low carb, finally a number. So that is what I will do!
