Shot Instruction

On Friday afternoon, Justin and I went to the doctor office to learn how to do the hormone shots. There are two needles involved--one for mixing and one for injection. We saw the mixing one first and freaked a little because it is so thick. We take 1cc of a saline solution and mix that with 4 hormone tablets. Then the mixing needle is replaces with an injection needle--one and a half inches to get past the fat and into the muscle of my upper outer buttocks. We started Friday night. Night one, I bleed a little. Night two was fine. I do not feel a prick or anything. About 10 minutes after the injection I feel like I can feel the solution in the muscle. Night three--the needle was fine, but I felt the solution right away, even before the needle was out and it felt like a little cramp in my muscle. Nothing bad, but weird. I go in Wednesday for an ultrasound to see how things are progressing. Depending of the number and size of the follicles, we will harvest on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday next week. 3 days after fertilization, we transfer 2-3 embryos and then wait. I have yet to find out of about the progesterone I will need to take--either shots or suppositories. I am hoping for suppositories.
