So the car accident . . .
My car is still in the shop getting fixed. It was about $600 from getting totaled--I wish it had. My foot is doing OK, still bugs me a little but no limping. Justin and I decided to take one of my grandma's cars as a replacement for me and once I get the Rendezvous back we are just going to sell it. So now I am driving . . . . an H3 Hummer. It is white with tan leather interior. I got it this weekend. I flew to San Diego, my mom picked me up at the airport in it and we drove to Tucson. She flew home this morning.
Mother's Day Weekend . . .
As you just read, my mom was here. After a day of driving, Justin took us out to dinner. The following day, we slept in. Then Justin was unloading the Hummer of things my mom had brought over and a little pug named Gus ran into our year. I had never met this little dog before so I brought him inside. Hugo and Gus had a fun time playing and running. My mom and I went door to door on our street and asked if anyone knew the dog, and it turned out the be our next door neighbor. Then my mom and I went to the Arizona Inn for Brunch--it was very fancy and very good food. We walked around the grounds and took lots of pictures. Then back to my house where we watch Miss Pettigew Lives for a Day. Very nice movie. And then we made dinner: grilled steaks, baked potatoes and sauteed broccoli. For dessert we have angel food cake, with strawberries and whipped cream. All in all, a great day.
11 Years married. . .
A few days from our anniversary, we discovered that Justin would have a rare weekend off. So we quick booked a little trip to las Vegas. We went out Friday night, May 1st, and stayed at the Luxor. The next morning, we went to Circus Circus and went on all the carnival rides and roller coasters--FUN. Then we went to the Venetian and had lunch in a little Italian cafe and watched the street performers. Then we went on a gondola ride. After this we went back to our hotel and got ready for the show. We saw Defending the Caveman, a very funny one man comedy show. We both enjoyed it greatly. Then we went to "our" restaurant for dinner--The Rosewood Grille. When Justin and I took out first vacation together, we went to Vegas--neither of us had ever been. We were walking down the strip and saw this restaurant advertising giant Maine lobster. Just has to have it, so we went in and it was a very nice dinner but very expensive. 13 years later, the same staff is working there. We have gone maybe 5 or 6 times and it is the same waiter every time--Simone. It was a wonderful little weekend.
On the Fertility front . . .
I have a doctor's appointment this Thursday. I am not sure what it is for, but I think he will put me on birth control pills to manipulate my cycles, so that right when we get back from Hawaii, we can get into a fresh cycle of IVF. I am taking metformin, a low dose aspirin, prenatal vitamins and a couple of herbs from my acupuncturist. So we will see what happens.
